36. Business Section C. 1938
This is what the center of town looked like for many years. Does anyone remember the
name of the little spa on the corner where we used to get sodas and play the jukebox in the 1950's? And the owners name? I believe the A&P was next door to it. Please email me with any such information on the center, or information on any cards for that matter. There is a new book being written on Humarock by Fred Freitas and interesting information is requested.

37. South of the Opening C. 1930
I believe these houses are just south of the main opening in the wall. I think I recognize the stone structure abutting the wall. Note that the sea wall built in the 1920's stopped here at that time, and must have been finished in the 1930's.

38. Further South C. late 1930's
The sea wall has now been completed to the south in the 1930's. These great twin houses are Humarock landmarks. Is it true that Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe visited one of them?
Actually, I would like any hard information on their visit. Did you see them? Who did? When? Where? My uncle who lived next door claims he never saw them! This is one of the big mysteries of Humarock. Please
email me with your story.
The lighter colored house took a hit in the 1991 No Name storm (The Perfect Storm) and has been modernized; and the dark house beyond them was torn down this year, 2000, is currently being rebuilt.

39. South River View C. 1950
See the same twin houses in the background! And new houses are now being built in what this card calls "New Humarock." So many of these houses have now been rebuilt.

40. Cottages
along the Sea Wall C. 1945
This is a classic and nostalgic picture of cottages along the sea wall as they looked in the 1940's and '50's south of the main opening. Remember "stubbing" your bare toe on this wall on your way to Clarks to get the mail, paper, or candy? And going barefoot all summer!
